From First Shipments to Fade Projects
The Weirloom launch moves forward, buying guides get an upgrade, and Redline Rally winners take the stage
Big week at Denimhunters. Lots going on. Long newsletter. So short intro.
We reached a Weirloom milestone, I’ve updated buying guides, and we have some fresh fades from the Redline Rally, and more:
I’ve shared a few more “next fade project” picks on Instagram—so if you’re on the hunt for inspiration, follow Denimhunters on IG.
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of holding the fort at Brund while Henrik, Peter, and Mikkel were off banging heads at CopenHell 🤘 I’ll be back in the shop tomorrow (Saturday), before heading to Berlin for Union Showroom on Sunday morning.
Now, let’s get into it 👇

👖 Weirloom Update: From Sandbox to Shipment
When I first teased Weirloom back in April, I called it “a small, personal experiment.”
That’s still true—but it’s also grown into something very real.
This week, the first production run of the WL‑001 jeans wrapped in Portugal and started its journey to me. Which means…
Pre-orders will ship next week—on time, just as promised 😁
I built Weirloom my way. No funding. No team. Just me—designing, refining, and learning as I go. I’ve obsessed over every detail to make sure this first release feels right. And while the brand will keep evolving, the jeans you’re getting are the result of years of denim experience, a lot of long days, and an unshakable commitment to quality.
To everyone who’s already ordered a pair: thank you. You believed in this before it had a track record. Soon, you’ll be wearing the very first pair of Weirloom jeans.
And I can’t wait to hear what you think.
Oh—and if you missed the ‘First Edition’, don’t worry.
The next batch is already in motion. It’ll be ready just in time for Year 5 of the Indigo Invitational, kicking off September 1.
So, if you’re thinking about joining the fun but haven’t picked your competition pair yet, well, how about those Weirlooms? 😎

👕 T‑Shirt Guides: Small Updates, Big Impact
Well-made T-shirts—especially loopwheeled ones—are (still) getting a lot of attention.
They’re among the most-read guides on Denimhunters, and a surprisingly strong driver of affiliate sales too. Which says something, considering we’re a denim-first site, and tees cost less than half of what a good pair of jeans does.
So, this week, I gave all three of our T-shirt guides a careful but thorough 2025 update. No major rewrites—but enough polish to make sure each one’s as helpful and relevant as anything you’d expect from Denimhunters.
What it’s about: Our original tee guide from 2021, updated for clarity and discovery.
Who it’s for: Newcomers to well-made basics—those wondering what makes a tee worth €80 instead of €20.
What’s new: I’ve repositioned this one as a proper entry point: the guide introduces iconic makers like Warehouse, Iron Heart, Samurai, and more.
What it’s about: Side-by-side testing of classic tees across fit, feel, and quality.
Who it’s for: Buyers ready to make a choice—and wanting to know how top tees compare in real life.
What’s new: A light editorial refresh for 2025; tightening up the text to make it easier to navigate and act on.
What it’s about: The finest loopwheeled T-shirts you can buy—knit on vintage tubular machines.
Who it’s for: The quality-obsessed and detail-curious—those who (probably) already own a few and want the best.
What’s new: Another light polish; mostly tidying up and reaffirming why these shirts deserve a spot in your wardrobe.
There’s some overlap between the guides, sure. A few of the same tees show up in more than one guide. But each article does its own job:
One introduces. One compares. One zooms in. Happy hunting.
As part of my ongoing buying guide updates, I’ve also refreshed one of our most-read denim roundups: the best fast-fading selvedge jeans.
This guide compares 14 pairs that break in faster and fade with more contrast—perfect for anyone chasing high-contrast evolution without waiting years to get it.
It’s not a deep technical breakdown (for that, check out the selvedge explainer), but it’s easily our most useful guide if you want fast results. Especially relevant now, with fade season in full swing—and Indigo Invitational Year 5 just around the corner.
While it’s not a guide to lightweight jeans per se (we have that one here for warm-weather wear), many of the picks are lighter in weight—which helps explain why they fade fast.
This update is part of the same broader cleanup that included the budget-friendly guide, the lightweight edit, and more to come. I’ve trimmed outdated entries, added new favourites (like Railcar, UES, and a few more), and sharpened the structure so you get what you need—quickly.

Fresh off the press—literally just published as I was writing this newsletter—the Redline Rally Year 3 winners are now live.
There’s plenty to admire: next-level fades, thoughtful storytelling, and the kind of community energy that makes raw denim fun.
PS. He wrote it from a hotel room in Berlin, by the way. While on holiday. With his wife. But that’s Bryan: disciplined, dedicated, and just persuasive enough to get away with something like that 😄
Thanks for reading—and for being part of this.
See you next week ✌️
