A Week of Selvedge, Samples, and Sniffles

Reviewing Anerkjendt's upcoming jeans collection and visiting suppliers in Istanbul, and catching a cold along the way

This week, I was in Istanbul with my consulting client, Anerkjendt, visiting their jeans supplier. The goal? Review samples, give final feedback, and check out what’s in development for their first-ever proper jeans collection, set to launch later this year.

While there, we also visited two key denim suppliers: ISKO and Sharabati. The latter is behind Anerkjendt’s selvedge denim, woven on restored Swiss Ruti shuttle looms as part of their Loomers collection.

It’s the kind of denim that speaks to both history and innovation—built to last, with an authenticity you can feel. Sharabati’s Good Ole collection also offers some seriously well-made (albeit non-selvedge) options that are almost just as compelling.

I made it home Wednesday evening, and while the trip itself was a success, I also brought back an unwelcome souvenir: a nasty cold. I’ve been in bed pretty much since.

But even through the congestion, I’m genuinely excited. Anerkjendt’s jeans collection is shaping up to be something special, and I’m proud to be a part of it. More soon—once I’m back on my feet.
